The Next Big Thing in Indian Fashion, Ikaki, Is All Set To Open Its Bhopal Store
September 1: As fashion adeptly embraces the unforeseeable future, we are witnessing the rise of smart brands, and the most noteworthy addition to this industry has been IKAKI, a label that has smartly woven ancient Indian handlooms with the modern era, describing the new chapter of Indian fashion aptly.
It also summarizes the ideologies of the young and blooming fashion designer Apurvi, for whom fashion has always been an integral part of life. Apurvi’s thought behind IKAKI has always been simple, a coalescence of all Indian weavings, wearings and workmanship meeting the ‘now’. As the designer gives us her take on the brand, she says, “IKAKI is a palindrome, and it’s not just in word, but also in emotion – IKAKI meets past Indian fashion with the future, a true palindrome in its essence. And that’s not all, with this label, I want to evoke the feeling of individuality in women, give them the power to feel fashionable and confident”.
The label, IKAKI, is set to relocate and relaunch its store. In the last few months, the designer started taking active steps to execute it. She says, “As the world faces unprecedented times, the way we engage with brands and each other has changed, and I believe it is important to embrace innovative methods to reach our audiences, but I also believe in having a solid physical presence, and that’s what my store has always been about. Taking this idea a step further, I have relocated the store to a luxuriant location that does justice to the artistic tastes.
The brand’s newly relocated physical store will have a contemporary Indian minimal aesthetic that offers the consumer a unique experience. “And as physical retail still remains important to us, the IKAKI store will reflect the brand’s larger philosophy which is SAT CHIT ANAND – Truth Consciousness Bliss. At IKAKI, we have always used Instagram to employ new methods of visual storytelling. Still, now we look forward to exploring the same possibilities with the relaunch of our rustic retail store”, says Apurvi.
The IKAKI store will feature a wide range of collections, resort, everyday prét, bridal,
festive, occasion wear and more. And, especially for the relaunch, the store will showcase two collections at once; Sona and Chaandi, all about handcrafted chanderis and silks with signature workmanship details woven together with a modern touch. The store will intend to keep a uniform design approach across all mediums and platforms. Each product will be carefully selected, photographed, and adequate information will be made available to the customer to make the experience as smooth as possible. There will also be a lookbook available for the collection before the relaunch to keep all the product details handy and in place.
Its classic contemporary retail store and relaunch are on the first few days of September 2021.
